This huggable hippopotamus references the famous "William®," an ancient Egyptian statuette in The Met collection. The beloved blue-glazed figurine was molded in faience, a ceramic material made from ground quartz, and forged circa 1961-1878 B. C. in Egypt's Middle Kingdom.
